The Legendary Downchild Blues Band: 50th Anniversary Tour

Friday, October 25th at 7:30 pm

Just Announced! Susie Vinnick will be Opening

After 18 albums, countless awards and wowing sold-out audiences around the globe, The Legendary Downchild Blues Band is celebrating their 50th Anniversary this year with a brand-new show featuring hits like 'Flip, Flop & Fly, ' as well as fan favourites and hidden gems from throughout their illustrious career.

Downchild came to international prominence as the inspiration for the Hollywood stars Dan Akroyd and the late John Belushi's hit film, The Blue Brothers. In fact, two Downchild songs, 'Shotgun blues' and '(I've Got everything I Need) Almost' were even covered on The Blue Brothers' 1978 multi-platinum album Briefcase Full of Blues.

The band is lead by founder, Donnie 'Mr Downchild' Walsh on guitar and harmonica, singer Chuck Jackson, who also plays harmonica, tenor sax man Pat Carey, Michael Fonfar on keyboards, Gary Kendall on bass and drummer Mike Fitzpatrick.

With their signature jump-blues style and infectious, soulful sound, Juno award winners Downchild deliver a live performance that is second to none. This special anniversary show is one not to be missed!

Tickets $48.50 including all taxes & fees.

Downchild will be supported by Roots and Blues singer Suzie Vinnick, a Saskatoon native now in Ontario, Suzie is a 3X Juno Nominee, CFMA Award winner, and a 10-time winner of the Maple Blues Award for songwriting, female vocalist, acoustic act and more. Suzie has a voice you’ll never forget - it soars, it growls, it whispers and it shouts from a deep, deep well of emotion. The pure joy she exudes when she picks up that guitar is so worth the show. She was also the voice of Tim Horton’s for 5 years. Suzie’s latest album is a full band roots and blues extravaganza entitled Shake The Love Around.
