Ballet Kelowna A Streetcar Named Desire Thursday, November 21

Choreographed by John Alleyne, to the original jazz score by Tobin Stokes, the Tennessee Williams’ Pulitzer Prize winning classic tells the story of two sisters - one clinging to a bygone era, the other embracing the reality of post-WW2 life in America. Experience 14 dancers, nine Ballet Kelowna dancers supported by emerging artists from the Victoria Academy of Ballet, perform this stunning work Alison Girvan and Laura Landsberg Feels Like Home Tuesday, January 21

The two local singers will be joined on stage by guitarist Paul Landsberg, violinist Don Macdonald, Dylan Ferris on mandolin and Rob Fahie on bass for an evening of progressive folk, bluegrass and world music. “People have said that our voices together are heaven and earth, we come from very different backgrounds but our hearts are in the same place and that’s why it feels like home.

Sarah Hagen and Brendan McLeod Exultation Tuesday Feb 4

"Exultation" is an intoxicating music and storytelling collaboration. Classical pianist Sarah Hagen performs all 13 preludes of Rachmaninoff’s Opus 32, while spoken-word artist Brendan McLeod intersperses stories and poems. The result is a narrative journey through Rachmaninoff’s life, from his exile from Russia to his battle with depression, tireless work ethic and dedication to beauty, exploring the estrangements, losses and redemptions at the heart of contemporary political and social life.

Élage Diouf Tuesday, Feb 18

Élage’s music – a blend of pop, world, blues, folk and asiko - thrives at the artistic crossroad of artists like Carlinhos Brown, Peter Gabriel and Andres Cepeda. Singing mainly in his mother tongue, the wolof language, he is artistic, charismatic, authentic and easygoing, which makes his music unique. “My music is for the whole world to enjoy. It touches the heart, whatever the language. With upbeat songs that combine many cultures' influences, sounds that are warm, with good dancing rhythms, sounds that make you want to move and feel great.”— Elage Diouf
